Does X1 TV box activate on the date on my bill

So I was on the phone for about three hours between yesterday and today trying to fix an issue with my new X1 box on a self-install, and I've been getting the error XRE-02021 (somehow it seems zero other people have experienced this before based on these forums) which says "This device needs to be rehit before we can continue. Please call [XFINITY] and we'll get this taken care of."

 

I'm just noticing on my bill, "Regular monthly charges," that the first date says Aug 04, 2019 (tomorrow as of this post) and now I'm wondering since it wasn't discussed on the phone whether my box won't actually turn on services until then. For the record, my internet and other online services do work.

 

I just want to check if I have a valid thought, because I already scheduled a technician for two days away and now I have a $70 service fee on my bill, which if the problem isn't of my doing when I'm trying to do a self-install then I have a problem with.

I'm in the same boat.  I just found the envelope with my gift card and never opened it since last September, and now it's expired.  I will send a PM!

Comcast is new to our area. When they first came out to our house they told us we were too far away from pole and would have to have a line dropped. A week later the construction crew was at our house installing the line from our house to the pole. I have walked to the pole and can see that the pole has service to other houses. I called customer service to have someone come out to install service in our house and was told they would put a ticket through to take the "out of service area" hold off house. Several calls later and the hold is still there and pending. Not sure what to do here. I would think they would want to get us on a plan since they invested all this money into installing underground cable line.

Moving in with roommates.

So Im moving in with roommate soon and both the roommate and I have internet packages with xfinity. My question is if we decide to transfer my service over to the new location, will my roommate have to cancel his service and if so will he have to pay a cancellation fee? How much would the fee be?

How do I escalate an issue not being resolved?

 It has been over a month of not being able to hold a connection to my wifi but for a short period of time. I have had 4+ technicians out. They keep telling me the tech before them did something "wrong" and they have now fixed it.  They leave and within an hour its not working.  I keep calling customer service and they cannot find a "supervisor" for me to talk to so they just schedule another appt with another technician.  I am SO frustrated with the customer service.  Not only am I paying for internet that is not working I am paying for a home security system that has NO connection.. they can see how many times I have called in and all my appts.  Why is no one stepping up to the plate to escalte and help resolve this?????  I have had to take off work 4 times to meet someone at my house.  I switched from at&t a couple years ago due to poor customer service and Comcast you have FAILED me :-/.  If someone can help guide me as to where I go from here I would appreciate it.

I've found so far that the web site is generally broken. It's amazing to me that a company as large as Comcast can't manage to hire someone to build a functional site.

That being said, the only way I can usually get things done is to call.

Would like to cancelled TV and keep internet only.  I barely watch TV and my bill is really high.

I just hooked up an x1 box for the first time and I'm getting this error as well. Spoke with support and they resent a signal, but no dice. They are having someone call me in the morning and possibly have a tech come out.

Long-term service outage -- billing question

Hello, our internet has been out for over one week and doesn't seem like it will be fixed any time soon. Two technicians have come out for two separate visits and still have not fixed the issue, even though the second technician was part of the expert or supervisor-level technician team. Comcast has never reached out to me with updates during this process; I've had to schedule callback appointments myself. I am still trying to follow up with my apartment complex and the Comcast technicians, but in the meantime I wanted to ensure that we will not have to pay anything for this time period? At this rate, it seems like our internet will be down for an entire month, and Comcast still shows that I'll be billed on August 8th.
